Custom forged wheel lead time: 4 to 8 working weeks, shipping included
Our custom forged wheels are delivered in 4 to 8 working weeks, shipping included, that is 20 to 40 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding French public holidays). The lead time runs from full payment for an order on the website, or from the deposit for an order on quotation, and at the earliest from your approval of the measurements, the colour or the 3D render you asked for, under article 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions. It covers design, forging, machining, finishing, quality checks and delivery to your door.
The steps in one table
People often speak of a “manufacturing time”. Ours is a delivery time: it runs until the wheels are handed over to you, manufacture and shipping included.
| Step | Who acts | Duration | What governs it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Order and payment | you | the day you order | Terms and Conditions, art. 4.2 |
| 2. Your vehicle's measurements sent for your agreement | the Onyx Forged design office | no later than 5 working days after payment is received, or after your reply when they depend on it | Terms and Conditions, art. 3.1 and 5.1 |
| 3. 3D render, if you asked for one | the design office | sent within the 5 working days that follow your request | Terms and Conditions, art. 3.1 |
| 4. Release to manufacture | Onyx Forged | an email tells you on the same day | Terms and Conditions, art. 3.3 |
| 5. Forging, 5-axis CNC machining, finishing, quality checks | our manufacturing partner | included in the lead time | FAQ |
| 6. Delivery | tracked carrier, transit insurance included (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.3) | 5 to 8 working days: an estimate, not contractual, included in the lead time | our estimate; the commitment is the total lead time of art. 5.1 |
| Total | 4 to 8 working weeks, shipping included (20 to 40 working days) | Terms and Conditions, art. 5.1 |
Steps 2 and 3 also wait for your reply. The time you take to reply does not count in the lead time: it pauses it (see below).
Step by step
1. Order and payment
- On the website, you pay the price shown when you order, by card or by bank transfer; Klarna is also offered, depending on your country and subject to acceptance. This payment starts the lead time, under the conditions of article 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions; by bank transfer, on its receipt.
- On a quotation calculated online by the configurator, you pay in 3 interest-free instalments:
- 40% on order;
- 30% 10 days after the deposit;
- 30% 21 days after the deposit.
The deposit is what starts the lead time, under the conditions of article 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions. The wheels are shipped only once the price has been paid in full (Terms and Conditions, art. 4.2).
- On a quotation drawn up by hand (three-piece, diameter outside the price list), the deposit set by the quotation is what starts the lead time, under the conditions of article 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions.
2. Your vehicle's measurements
The Onyx Forged design office sets the measurements of your wheels: width, offset (ET), PCD, centre bore. It starts from the wheel position you chose (“as original”, “further out” or “flush with the arch”) and from the vehicle as you described it.
- It sends you these measurements in writing, no later than 5 working days after payment is received.
- When they are set from a reply of yours, it sends them no later than 5 working days after that reply.
- If it does not do so within that time, the lead time runs anyway (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.1).
The offset decides where the wheel sits in the arch. The lesson Offset (ET) explained helps you read what is proposed to you.
3. The 3D render, if you ask for one
You can ask for a 3D render of your wheels on your vehicle. It is free. Ask for it at the latest in your reply about the measurements.
- We send it to you within the 5 working days that follow your request.
- The render shows the agreed specifications, without changing them.
- The lead time runs at the earliest from your agreement to this render, under the conditions of article 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions (Terms and Conditions, art. 3.1 and 5.1).
- If you reject the render without pointing out a difference from the agreed specifications, the lead time runs from that rejection. Without a reply from you 30 days after a written reminder, it runs when those 30 days end (Terms and Conditions, art. 3.1).
4. Release to manufacture
Once your measurements have been accepted and checked by the design office, the order goes into manufacture. An email tells you at the very moment it is released.
It is also the last point at which either party can back out of the order: until that email, either party may cancel it on payment of compensation of 30% of the price including VAT (40% of the price excluding VAT for a business customer). After it, the order can no longer be cancelled, except in the cases provided for in the Terms and Conditions (Terms and Conditions, art. 3.3).
5. Forging, machining, finishing, quality checks
These steps are included in the lead time (FAQ):
- CAD design, to the accepted measurements;
- forging of the 6061-T6 aluminium;
- 5-axis CNC machining;
- finishing in the chosen colour;
- quality checks.
We keep you informed of progress at each key step (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.1). The order tracking page (page in French) shows whether your order is in preparation, shipped or delivered.
6. Delivery
The wheels leave with a tracked carrier, with transit insurance included. You receive the tracking number as soon as the carrier collects them (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.3). We estimate the transport time at 5 to 8 working days. This estimate is not contractual: what commits us is the total lead time of article 5.1. Delivery is included in that lead time: it is not added to it.
On receipt, check the parcel and the wheels. Report any visible defect (transport damage, scratch, finishing defect) within 7 days, by email with photos (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.4).
A dated example
You agree to the measurements on Monday 26 October 2026. Working days are counted from the next day.
- 20 working days later: Tuesday 24 November 2026, because 11 November, a public holiday in France, does not count.
- 40 working days later: Tuesday 22 December 2026, because 11 November, a public holiday in France, does not count.
Your wheels are therefore delivered between 24 November and 22 December 2026.
What pauses the lead time
The lead time stops, then resumes, in three cases set out in article 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions:
- a written question goes unanswered: we are waiting for a detail needed for manufacture (agreement on the measurements, colour, registration document);
- an instalment of a quotation is not paid: shipping is suspended until it is paid (Terms and Conditions, art. 4.5);
- a case of force majeure occurs (Terms and Conditions, art. 7.2).
To keep things moving, reply to the measurements email as soon as you receive it.
What moves the date within the range
The delivery date depends on the technical complexity of the order, the industrial constraints of our manufacturing partner and the season (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.1). We do not promise a date shorter than the range.
If the lead time is exceeded
The delivery time that commits us is the one in article 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions, within the meaning of article L216-1 of the French Consumer Code. If it is exceeded (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.1 bis):
- you can require us to deliver within a reasonable additional period;
- without delivery within that period, you can terminate the contract in writing (registered letter or another durable medium);
- the sums paid are then refunded to you within 14 days.
This remedy is the one that service-public.fr describes for any distance purchase. The same text states that a seller who gives no delivery time must deliver no later than 30 days after the order. A written lead time, with its starting point, is one of the 12 checks before choosing a maker.
Special deliveries
- French overseas departments and territories: delivery is on quotation, and the quotation sets the delivery time to your destination (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.2).
- To our delivery zones outside the European Union (Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Norway, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Liechtenstein): the lead time is the same. When the delivery involves customs clearance, import duty, import VAT and the carrier's clearance fee are collected on delivery and paid by you (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.2). Before ordering, also check how the wheels are registered in your country: see Forged wheels, the French roadworthiness test and registration.
- Outside our delivery zones: a personalised quotation is drawn up on request (Terms and Conditions, art. 5.2).
Prices are set out in the price list. A question about your order: contact.
