Onyx Forged

Two-piece forged wheels (2P)

The Onyx Forged two-piece construction combines a forged 6061-T6 aluminium centre with a barrel made to measure. Width and offset no longer depend on the design of the face, so you choose them, along with the finish: that allows fitment set to the millimetre and a deep lip.

The two-piece construction

A forged centre is assembled to a barrel made to measure. Width and offset no longer depend on the design of the face: you choose them. The lip can be deep, the bolts remain visible, and two-tone finishes become possible, since the centre and the barrel can be finished differently.

For drivers after exact fitment (the position of the wheel in the arch, to the millimetre) and a visual presence that a monoblock cannot match.

These words (concave profile, offset (ET), PCD (bolt pattern), fitment) are explained one by one, without jargon, in the Onyx Academy (page in French), our free course.

A set of four 22-inch two-piece forged wheels costs €5,200, and a set of 24-inch ones €6,300.

For Great Britain, our checkout charges in pounds sterling. It converts the euro price at its exchange rate on the day, currency conversion charge included, so the amount in pounds is about 2% more than a straight conversion at the market rate; the amount shown at checkout is the one charged for your order. The amounts in pounds on this page are those of 4 October 2026. Delivery is included in the price, so UK import VAT (20%) applies to the whole amount in pounds. The carrier collects the VAT before delivery, together with its clearance fee (for example, DHL Express charges £11 or 2.5% of the duty and VAT it pays, whichever is higher) and any import duty. Any import duty depends on the UK tariff in force when your wheels arrive: the amount you pay is the one on the carrier's notice, and UK import VAT then applies to it too. The details are on our Delivery to Great Britain page.

The models in the catalogue (10)

Each model below is a starting point: its product page (in French) shows every diameter and finish.

And the other two constructions?

All three constructions start from the same metal and the same process: a block of forged 6061-T6 aluminium, then 5-axis CNC machined, never cast in a mould. What sets them apart is the number of parts in the finished wheel.

Monoblock (one piece)

The whole wheel is cut from a single block of forged 6061-T6 aluminium, then 5-axis CNC machined. No separate barrel, no assembly bolts: the wheel is one piece. Of the three constructions, it weighs least and does the most to reduce unsprung mass. The concave profile is machined straight into the face, from a flat profile to a deep concave.

For drivers who put performance and handling first: less mass at the end of each suspension arm means a wheel that follows the road better and a car that changes direction more readily.

Three-piece

The forged centre sits between an outer barrel and an inner barrel, and the three parts are assembled by hand. It is the construction that goes furthest: extreme widths, an offset (ET) set to the millimetre, a stepped lip, technical bolts.

For exceptional projects, when the width or the offset you want cannot be reached with any other construction. It is made on quotation.

Which one to choose?

Monoblock if lightness and handling come first. Two-piece if exact fitment and a deep lip matter most. Monoblock and two-piece are the constructions customers ask for most; three-piece is kept for projects that need it, when the width or the offset you want cannot be reached any other way, and it is made on quotation. If in doubt, the Onyx Forged design office decides from your car's measurements: write to contact@onyxforgedwheels.com, or see how to customise your wheels.

Manufacturing is bespoke: the dimensions are set for one specific car, and your wheels are delivered in 4 to 8 working weeks, shipping included, from full payment for an order on the website, or from the deposit for an order on quotation, and at the earliest from your approval of the measurements, the colour or the 3D render you asked for, under article 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions. On a quotation calculated online, you can pay in 3 interest-free instalments. Prices on the website are for a set of four wheels, never for a single wheel. Free delivery to mainland France, the European Union, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Norway and Iceland, and to the French overseas departments and territories on quotation, which sets the delivery time (Terms and Conditions, article 5.2).

Why forged, not cast

A cast wheel is made by pouring liquid aluminium into a mould. As it cools, the metal leaves tiny pores, invisible to the eye.

A forged wheel never goes through a liquid state: a solid block of aluminium is compressed under a force of several thousand tonnes. Its internal grain lines up. The resulting material has no porosity and behaves differently under impact: where a cast wheel tends to crack all at once, a forged wheel deforms before it breaks.

That is the material that is then 5-axis CNC machined: forged 6061-T6 aluminium, an alloy also used in aircraft construction. The full explanation takes two lessons of the Onyx Academy: cast or forged (page in French) and why a forged wheel almost never breaks (page in French).

Frequently asked questions

What customers ask before ordering a two-piece

Is a two-piece wheel weaker than a monoblock?

No: both parts are forged from the same 6061-T6 aluminium, its grain aligned under several thousand tonnes. What changes is the bolted joint between the centre and the barrel. It adds mass and an assembly step, not a structural weakness: it is a construction used on production wheels as well as on extreme projects.

What does a two-piece allow that a monoblock does not?

Three practical things. The barrel is chosen independently of the centre, so the range of widths and offsets you can reach is wider. The lip depth can be set to the millimetre, stepped lip included, where a monoblock is limited by its forged blank. And the centre and the barrel can take two different finishes, which a monoblock wheel cannot.

How much does a two-piece set cost compared with a monoblock?

A set of four wheels costs from €4,300 in 18″ and 19″, up to €6,300 in 24″. Compared with a monoblock, the difference is €1,100 in 18″ and 19″ and €2,200 in 24″. It pays for extra material, an assembly step and the bolts, not for higher performance. For Great Britain, our checkout charges in pounds: on 4 October 2026, a set came to £3,735 in 18″ and 19″ and £5,472 in 24″, or £4,482 and £6,566.40 with UK import VAT (20%), before the carrier's clearance fee and any import duty. The carrier sets its fee: for example, DHL Express charges £11 or 2.5% of the duty and VAT it pays, whichever is higher. Any import duty depends on the UK tariff in force when your wheels arrive: the amount you pay is the one on the carrier's notice, and UK import VAT then applies to it too. Every diameter is set out on our Delivery to Great Britain page. Prices in detail, and what they include (page in French).

Are visible bolts compulsory?

The bolts join the centre and the barrel, and they remain visible as a ring around the centre, except on the OX-D5 Kinetic, our two-piece with hidden bolts. If you want no visible bolts on the face, choose the Kinetic or the monoblock construction. Titanium or gold-coloured bolts are possible, on request: write to us.

Are your two-piece wheels designed to JWL/VIA standards?

Yes: they are designed to JWL/VIA standards, which set requirements for resistance to fatigue, impacts and dynamic loads. As parts made one at a time to your specifications, they do not go through an individual approval procedure: we would rather say so before you order.
