Custom forged wheels for Alpine

Alpine was born in Dieppe in 1955, still has its plant there, and was built around a principle that has never varied: performance is gained by removing weight before adding power. Onyx Forged, a French brand of custom forged wheels, works under the same constraint. 6061-T6 aluminium forged under high pressure, 5-axis CNC machining, measurements established for your car. On an A110, a berlinette weighing around 1,100 kg, a kilo taken off the wheels does not count the way it does elsewhere; the A290, an electric city car, has its own page of sourced original measurements.

Why choose Onyx Forged for Alpine

  • Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
  • 5-axis CNC machining
  • Designed to JWL/VIA standards
  • Fitment worked out for your Alpine

Alpine: a brand built around weight

Jean Rédélé founded Alpine in Dieppe in 1955, and the brand still has its plant there. Its method has not changed: start light, stay light, and look for performance in balance rather than in engine size. This is what allowed the Berlinette A110 to win the first World Rally Championship, in 1973, against far better-armed rivals. It is still the brief for the current A110: aluminium platform and body, rear mid-engine, around 1,100 kg on the scales. At Alpine, the gram is a working unit, not a marketing claim, and that entirely changes the way the wheels of an Alpine should be approached.

What lightness demands of the wheels

A wheel is part of the unsprung mass: no spring carries it, it follows the road, and the damper spends its time catching up with it. The principle holds for every car; the proportions do not. Taking one kilogram per wheel off a two-and-a-half-tonne SUV is a marginal correction. Taking it off a 1,100 kg car changes a genuinely significant share of what the suspension has to control, and it shows at once in the way the front axle loads up and the way the car absorbs a joint in the road surface. On an Alpine, a heavy wheel does more than add weight: it undoes part of the engineering work that justified the car. A performance tyre already adds its share of mass; the wheel remains the only item on which weight can really be saved without conceding anything elsewhere. This is why we rule out designs that claw back in material what they claim to bring in style.

Forged 6061-T6, and what the process really allows

A cast wheel is made by filling a mould: the metal sets with residual porosity, which is compensated for with extra thickness. Forging starts from a billet of 6061-T6 aluminium compressed under very high pressure: the grain of the metal aligns with the direction of the loads, the porosity disappears, and the material becomes sound enough to be removed wherever it does no work. The 5-axis CNC machining does the rest, hollowing out the inner faces that nobody looks at and that nonetheless account for most of a wheel's weight. For comparable stiffness, less metal remains; that is the whole point of the operation. Our wheels are designed to JWL/VIA standards.

Two French brands, the same constraint

Alpine assembles its cars in Dieppe; we design our wheels in France and have them manufactured. It is not a matter of flag-waving, but of practical convenience. On a small-series car, whose owners often know its specifications better than the salesperson who delivered it to them, this closeness is worth more than a catalogue of universal-fit part numbers. A recent A110, an electric A290, an A310 or a restored berlinette do not raise the same questions anyway, and none of them can be handled from a catalogue. The original measurements of the A290 (5x114.3, 66.1 mm hub, M12 x 1.5 bolts, 8J x 19 ET30 wheels on both axles) are on its page, each measurement with its source. Nothing we offer exists in stock: each set starts from the measurements established for your car, calipers and wheel arches included. The original tyre pressure sensors must be carried over as they are: if your Alpine has them, the wheel must be able to take them at the valve position.

Configure your custom Alpine wheels

Monoblock when lightness comes first, two-piece or three-piece when you are after a width or a barrel depth that a monoblock cannot reach. Diameter, width, number of spokes, concave profile, finish, visible or hidden bolts: everything is decided with you; the offset is calculated by the Onyx Forged design office and submitted to you. Price and lead time each have their own page: custom forged wheel prices and lead time.

Send us an inspiration photo: our configurator turns it into a wheel render applied to your Alpine. Start your configuration, or write to contact@onyxforgedwheels.com.

Alpine A110: original wheels, brakes and weight

The figures below come from Alpine's documents and from the sources listed below, read on 20 October 2026. They are the standard measurements of the versions named, not a recommendation: before any design, we work out the measurements of your car.

A110 (2022 range)

Wheels17 inches [1]
Tyres205/45 R17 at the front, 235/45 R17 at the rear (Michelin Pilot Sport 4) [1]
BrakesBrembo, 296 mm discs at the front and at the rear [1]
Mass in running order1,102 to 1,140 kg [1]

A110 GT

Wheels18-inch “Légende” [1]
Tyres205/40 R18 at the front, 235/40 R18 at the rear (Michelin Pilot Sport 4) [1]
BrakesBrembo, 320 mm discs at the front and at the rear [1]
Mass in running order1,119 to 1,140 kg [1]

A110 S

Wheels18-inch “GT Race” [1]
Tyres215/40 R18 at the front, 245/40 R18 at the rear (Michelin Pilot Sport 4; Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect optional) [1]
BrakesBrembo, 320 mm bi-material discs at the front and at the rear [1]
Mass in running order1,102 to 1,140 kg [1]

Three versions, two diameters and two disc sizes: a 17-inch wheel designed for the base A110 will not necessarily clear the 320 mm discs of an A110 GT or S. It is the first measurement we check.

PCD, centre bore, thread, diameters and original offsets: the Alpine cars we cover

One row per generation. Each value is taken from the car's page, which cites the source of each measurement, its fitments version by version and their original offsets (manufacturer). When a PCD has its own page, it leads there: that page lists every car that shares it.

Generation by generation

Alpine A290 first generation (2024-present): 1 original fitment recorded, 19-inch. Version: Alpine A290, 130 and 160 kW. Fitment: 19-inch, 8J ET 30 (tyres 225/40 R19).

“—”: measurement not published for lack of a sufficient source. The diameters and offsets are those of the original fitments, all versions together: the car's page gives the fitment of each version. These measurements help you recognise your car; they are not a recommendation, and Onyx does not advise any specific offset.

Onyx entry price: the set of four monoblock forged wheels in the smallest diameter of our price list that covers the smallest original diameter recorded; the other diameters and the two-piece construction are on each generation's page. Amounts in pounds: our checkout on 4 October 2026, before the carrier's clearance fee and any import duty. The amount shown at checkout is the one charged for your order.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 21 October 2026.
