Original fitment measurements: Alpine A290 first generation
The measurements of the car as delivered new, to identify yours and compare. Each value refers, by a number, to the sources that give it. They are not a recommendation: Onyx does not advise any specific offset.

Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Alpine A290 first generation
What are the original offsets for the wheels of an Alpine A290?
An offset of 30, on both axles, on the only wheel permitted by its Swiss vehicle type records: 8J x 19, at 130 and 160 kW alike. [5, 7, 9]
Which tyres, and which load index, does an Alpine A290 take?
225/40 R19 with load index 93, i.e. 650 kg per tyre, on both axles; the July 2024 record gives them speed rating Y, those of November 2025 speed rating V. [5, 7, 11]
What is the load per wheel on an Alpine A290?
Its Swiss vehicle type records give it a permissible load of 1,034 kg on the front axle and 1,023 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 517 and 511.5 kg per wheel, at 130 and 160 kW alike: the load is split almost equally. The 225/40 R19 tyre with load index 93 carries 650 kg. [5, 9, 11]
What PCD, centre bore and bolts does an Alpine A290 use?
The PCD is 5x114.3, the centre bore 66.1 mm and the bolt thread M12 x 1.5: SCC and tirewheelguide.com give these measurements. wheelfitment.eu gives the same PCD and the same thread, but a larger centre bore, which we do not adopt; it also gives, along with koleso.ee, the bolt fixing. The tightening torque is not published: only one database gives it. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Same fixing measurements
As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the Alpine A290 first generation: PCD 5x114.3, centre bore 66.1 mm, thread M12 x 1.5, fixing: wheel bolts.
- Renault 5 E-Tech first generation (since 2024)
- Renault Clio IV R.S. (2013–2018)
- Renault Mégane IV R.S. (2017–2023)
Same fixing measurements; original diameters and offsets: see each car's page. The seat of the bolts or nuts, the width of the wheels and brake clearance are not compared here: this comparison is not an opinion on compatibility.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 21 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the Alpine A290 first generation
- Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
- 5-axis CNC machining
- Designed to JWL/VIA standards
- Fitment worked out for your Alpine A290 first generation
Alpine A290: 5x114.3, a 66.1 mm hub, M12 x 1.5 bolts
The Alpine A290 (type P01), whose first Swiss vehicle type records date from July 2024, at 130 and 160 kW, is 5x114.3 on a 66.1 mm hub, with M12 x 1.5 wheel bolts: SCC and tirewheelguide.com give the PCD (bolt pattern), the centre bore and the thread, wheelfitment.eu and koleso.ee the bolt fixing, each cited in the table. wheelfitment.eu gives a larger centre bore, which we do not adopt: two databases against one. The tightening torque is not published, for want of a second source.
A single wheel: 8J x 19, an offset of 30
The vehicle type record of the Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), the document that sets the tyre and wheel combinations a car may carry, permits a single combination for the A290, the same on both axles: an 8J x 19 wheel with an offset of 30, with 225/40 R19 tyres, speed rating Y in the 2024 records and V in those of November 2025. The A290 shares its vehicle type and its hub with the Renault 5 E-Tech, but not its wheel: wider, larger and with a lower offset, the wheel of the A290 sits closer to the wing.
A front-wheel-drive car: the load per wheel
Its records give a permissible load of 1,034 kg on the front axle and 1,023 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 517 and 511.5 kg per wheel, at 130 and 160 kW alike: the load is split almost equally. This is the load the wheel must withstand, and the tyre must keep at least the load index of the original fitment, 93 on 225/40 R19 (reading a tyre (page in French)); on an electric car, weight and torque also wear the tyres faster (electric car tyres (page in French)).
What these measurements say about a forged wheel
The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.
Roadworthiness test: what is examined
The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that protrudes beyond the bodywork) and verifies that the tyre size is one provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent. Keeping a tyre size from the original fitment, and at least its load index, avoids having to justify it; the details are on the roadworthiness test and registration page.
What we record before machining
- The exact version, stated on the registration document, and the current diameter of your wheels.
- The braking system, on which the smallest possible diameter depends (wheels and brakes (page in French)).
- The current fitment, axle by axle, and the 66.1 mm hub bore.
Configure your forged wheels for the Alpine A290
The Onyx Forged design office works out the measurements of your car from its exact version, stated on the registration document, and shows them to you before machining. Each set is cut from forged 6061-T6 aluminium, machined on a 5-axis CNC centre, as monoblock, two-piece or three-piece wheels; our wheels are designed to JWL/VIA standards. Prices by diameter and the lead time are given on this page, under “What Onyx can make”. Start your configuration or write to contact@onyxforgedwheels.com.
