Which wheel for an Audi RS: the generation code first

An Audi wheel is chosen by generation, which the brand designates by a code: 8Y for the RS 3 since 2021 and 8V from 2015 to 2020, C8 for the RS 6 and the RS 7 since 2019, C7 for the RS 6 from 2013 to 2018. It is the generation that sets the PCD (bolt pattern), the centre bore, the bolts and the original fitments. The original measurements we have recorded for Audi cars are published generation by generation, on the page for the RS 3 8Y, the RS 6 C8 and the RS Q3 F3, and, for the compacts, on those for the A3 and S3 8V and the A3 and S3 8Y, for the S saloons and coupés, on those for the S4 B9 and the S5 B9, and, for the electric car, on the one for the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT: each measurement there cites its source.

PCD, centre bore and bolts: what we have recorded on Audi RS cars

The combustion-engined Audi RS cars whose measurements we have published, the RS 3 (8Y), the RS 5 (B8 and B9), the RS 6 (C8), the TT RS (8S) and the RS Q3 (F3), use 5x112; the RS e-tron GT, which is electric, uses 5x130, like the e-tron GT, on a 71.6 mm centre bore. The centre bore of the RS 5 and the RS 6 C8 is 66.5 mm, that of the TT RS (8S) and the RS Q3 (F3) 57.1 mm; that of the RS 3 8Y is not published, for lack of a sufficient source. The bolts are M14 x 1.5, and Audi supplies its complete wheels without bolts: it asks for the standard bolts to be reused. The 5x112 PCD page sets side by side the cars that share this PCD, with their centre bore, their thread and their seat.

For the generations with no published measurement (RS 3 8V, RS 6 C7, RS 7 C8), we show nothing: we do not carry over the measurement of a neighbouring generation. An Onyx wheel is machined to the PCD and centre bore of the car it is made for: it centres on the hub with no ring or spacer.

Which wheel size for an Audi RS

As original equipment, the RS 3 (8Y) runs on 19-inch wheels, wider at the front (9J) than at the rear (8J), and the RS 6 (C8) on 21-inch wheels as standard, with original complete winter wheels in 21 and 22 inches offered by Audi. When the widths differ from one axle to the other, as on the RS 3, the car's page gives the original width and offset for each axle.

To compare two fitments before ordering, first read the size of your tyre (reading a tyre (page in French)), then use the tyre size equivalence and the wheel offset calculator: they compare two fitments, they do not recommend any offset. The Onyx Forged design office then works out the width and offset of your wheels for your car and your brakes, and submits them to you before machining.

Why a forged wheel on an Audi RS

An Onyx forged wheel is 5-axis CNC machined from a block of forged 6061-T6 aluminium, instead of being cast in a mould, and designed to JWL/VIA standards. The forged, cast or flow formed page explains what this changes for weight and strength. Price and lead time each have their own page: custom forged wheel prices and lead time.

Frequently asked questions about Audi wheels

Which wheel size for my Audi RS?

The one for your generation and your version: 19 inches for the RS 3 (8Y), 21 inches as standard for the RS 6 (C8). The size is shown on the sidewall of your tyres; the original fitments, version by version, are on the page for the RS 3 8Y, the RS 6 C8 and the RS Q3 F3.

What is the PCD of an Audi?

It depends on the generation. On the combustion-engined Audi RS cars recorded, the RS 3 (8Y), the RS 5 (B8 and B9), the RS 6 (C8), the TT RS (8S) and the RS Q3 (F3), it is 5x112; on the e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT, which are electric, it is 5x130 (5x130 PCD). The sources for each value are cited on the car's page; the 5x112 PCD page lists the cars that share it.

Which bolts do Audi wheels use?

Wheel bolts, not nuts: M14 x 1.5 on the RS 3 (8Y) and the RS 6 (C8). Audi supplies its complete wheels without bolts and asks for the standard bolts to be reused. The wheel nuts and tightening torque (page in French) guide explains the types of fixing.

Do forged wheels for an Audi have an approval of their own, and do they pass the roadworthiness test?

No: made individually, Onyx wheels have no individual approval of their own, and we say so before you order. They are designed to JWL/VIA standards. The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that sticks out beyond the bodywork) and checks that the tyre size is provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent; it neither validates nor rejects a modification, which is a matter for vehicle approval (réception) and the registration document. The details, country by country, are on the roadworthiness test and registration page.

How much do forged wheels for an Audi cost?

The price of a custom forged wheel depends on its diameter and its construction: the price grid for monoblock and 2-piece wheels is published diameter by diameter, 3-piece wheels are priced on quotation, and the finish does not change the price. The details are on the custom forged wheel prices page, and the lead time on the lead time page.

Monoblock, 2-piece or 3-piece: what is the difference?

A monoblock wheel is machined from a single forged block; a 2-piece wheel assembles a forged centre and a barrel; a 3-piece wheel holds the centre between an outer barrel and an inner barrel. Each construction has its own page, monoblock, 2-piece and 3-piece, and the guide monoblock, 2-piece or 3-piece (page in French) compares them.

What if my Audi is not on the list?

An Onyx wheel is designed around the measurements of the car it goes on. Enter your model and its model year in the configurator: we record your car's measurements and submit them to you before machining.

PCD, centre bore, thread, diameters and original offsets: the Audi cars we cover

One row per generation. Each value is taken from the car's page, which cites the source of each measurement, its fitments version by version and their original offsets (manufacturer). When a PCD has its own page, it leads there: that page lists every car that shares it.

“—”: measurement not published for lack of a sufficient source. The diameters and offsets are those of the original fitments, all versions together: the car's page gives the fitment of each version. These measurements help you recognise your car; they are not a recommendation, and Onyx does not advise any specific offset.

Onyx entry price: the set of four monoblock forged wheels in the smallest diameter of our price list that covers the smallest original diameter recorded; the other diameters and the two-piece construction are on each generation's page. Amounts in pounds: our checkout on 4 October 2026, before the carrier's clearance fee and any import duty. The amount shown at checkout is the one charged for your order.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 21 October 2026.
