BYD wheels: the measurements for your generation, with their sources

The PCD (bolt pattern), the centre bore, the wheel fixing and the fitments change from one BYD to another, and from one version to another within the same model. We only show a measurement if a source gives it: a manufacturer document, a vehicle type record, a genuine parts catalogue, or two independent specialist sources that agree. The measurements are published generation by generation, on each car's page, where each measurement cites its source. The first pages are those of the BYD Seal and the BYD Sealion 7.

An electric car weighs on its wheels

An electric car carries a heavy battery, and each wheel takes its share: what counts is the load per wheel, not the look of the car. The wheel must carry this load, and the tyre must have at least the load index of the original fitment; each generation's page gives the permissible axle load and the index of the original tyres, with their source. The guide Heavy SUVs: what load must the wheel carry? (page in French) explains the calculation, and electric car tyres (page in French) what difference wear, the HL marking, noise and range make. To compare two fitments, the tyre size equivalence tool checks that the rolling circumference stays close, and the offset calculator compares the position of two wheels in the wheel arch: these tools compare, they recommend no offset.

Why we record your car's measurements

An Onyx wheel is machined to the PCD and centre bore of the car it is made for: it centres on the hub with no ring or spacer. Enter your model, its model year and its version in the configurator: the Onyx Forged design office records the measurements, calculates the width and offset for your car and your brakes, and submits them to you before machining.

An Onyx forged wheel is 5-axis CNC machined from a block of forged 6061-T6 aluminium, instead of being cast in a mould, and designed to JWL/VIA standards. The forged, cast or flow formed page explains what this changes for weight and strength. Price and lead time each have their own page: custom forged wheel prices and lead time.

Frequently asked questions about BYD wheels

Which wheel size for my BYD?

The one for your model, your generation and your version. The size is shown on the sidewall of your tyres (reading a tyre (page in French)); the original fitments, with their width, their offset and the tyre that suits them, are on your generation's page when it exists on the site.

Do forged wheels for a BYD have an approval of their own, and do they pass the roadworthiness test?

No: made one set at a time, Onyx wheels have no individual approval of their own, and we say so before the order. They are designed to JWL/VIA standards. The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that sticks out beyond the bodywork) and checks that the tyre size is provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent; it neither validates nor rejects a modification, which is a matter for vehicle approval (réception) and the registration document. The details, country by country, are on the roadworthiness test and registration page.

And if my BYD is not on the list?

An Onyx wheel is designed around the measurements of the car it goes on. Enter your model and its model year in the configurator: we record your car's measurements and submit them to you before machining.

PCD, centre bore, thread, diameters and original offsets: the BYD cars we cover

One row per generation. Each value is taken from the car's page, which cites the source of each measurement, its fitments version by version and their original offsets (manufacturer). When a PCD has its own page, it leads there: that page lists every car that shares it.

The same wheels from one car to the next?

Same measurements on all 2 cars: PCD 5x120 and centre bore 64.1 mm.

The thread is not published for any of the 2 cars: nothing is concluded for this measurement.

The original diameters change: 18, 19 inches for the BYD Seal first generation; 19, 20 inches for the BYD Sealion 7 first generation.

The range of original offsets changes: ET 45 for the BYD Seal first generation; ET 40 for the BYD Sealion 7 first generation.

Each generation's page gives the fitment of each version, with its sources.

“—”: measurement not published for lack of a sufficient source. The diameters and offsets are those of the original fitments, all versions together: the car's page gives the fitment of each version. These measurements help you recognise your car; they are not a recommendation, and Onyx does not advise any specific offset.

Onyx entry price: the set of four monoblock forged wheels in the smallest diameter of our price list that covers the smallest original diameter recorded; the other diameters and the two-piece construction are on each generation's page. Amounts in pounds: our checkout on 4 October 2026, before the carrier's clearance fee and any import duty. The amount shown at checkout is the one charged for your order.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 20 October 2026.
