5x120 bolt pattern: cars, centre bore and 5x120 forged wheels
A 5x120 bolt pattern means 5 fixing holes spaced around a circle 120 mm in diameter, measured at the centre of the holes. It is also written “120/5”, “LK 120/5” and “5 x 120”. The PCD (bolt pattern) is the first measurement of a wheel: it must be exactly that of the car. It is not enough on its own: the centre bore, the thread and the seat of the bolts must match too. PCD and centre bore: how the wheel is fixed, the Academy lesson, explains them.
Below, the 15 generations of cars we cover whose 5x120 bolt pattern is established by our sources, with their original fixing measurements. A car that is not listed may still be 5x120: we publish only what we have recorded and sourced.
Cars with a 5x120 bolt pattern and their original fixing measurements
Each value refers, by a number, to the sources that give it. These are the measurements of the car as originally supplied, to identify yours: they are not a recommendation.

“Not published”: no source gives this measurement with the certainty we require at present (rule at the bottom of the page). The original fitments, version by version, with their original offsets (manufacturer), are on each car's page.
Same bolt pattern, which centre bore? The hub-centric ring
In 5x120, our cars share 3 centre bores: 64.1 mm (BYD Seal first generation, BYD Sealion 7 first generation, Honda Civic Type R (FK8), Honda Civic Type R (FL5), Tesla Model S first series, Tesla Model S second series, Tesla Model X first series and Tesla Model X second series); 72.6 mm (BMW M2 F87, BMW M3 E46 and BMW M5 F10); 74.1 mm (BMW X5 M F85 and BMW X6 M F86). The centre bore of BMW M3 F80 and BMW M4 F82 is not published at present: without a sufficient source, we do not show it.
A hub-centric ring brings a wheel's centre bore down to the diameter of the hub. It is only needed if the wheel is bored wider than the hub; if it is narrower, the centre bore does not fit over the hub.
| Wheel centre bore | Car's hub | Centring |
|---|---|---|
| 64.1 mm | 72.6 mm (BMW M2 F87, BMW M3 E46 and BMW M5 F10) | does not fit: the wheel's centre bore is smaller than the hub |
| 64.1 mm | 74.1 mm (BMW X5 M F85 and BMW X6 M F86) | does not fit: the wheel's centre bore is smaller than the hub |
| 72.6 mm | 64.1 mm (BYD Seal first generation, BYD Sealion 7 first generation, Honda Civic Type R (FK8), Honda Civic Type R (FL5), Tesla Model S first series, Tesla Model S second series, Tesla Model X first series and Tesla Model X second series) | hub-centric ring 72.6 → 64.1 mm |
| 72.6 mm | 74.1 mm (BMW X5 M F85 and BMW X6 M F86) | does not fit: the wheel's centre bore is smaller than the hub |
| 74.1 mm | 64.1 mm (BYD Seal first generation, BYD Sealion 7 first generation, Honda Civic Type R (FK8), Honda Civic Type R (FL5), Tesla Model S first series, Tesla Model S second series, Tesla Model X first series and Tesla Model X second series) | hub-centric ring 74.1 → 64.1 mm |
| 74.1 mm | 72.6 mm (BMW M2 F87, BMW M3 E46 and BMW M5 F10) | hub-centric ring 74.1 → 72.6 mm |
An Onyx wheel is machined to the PCD and the centre bore of the car it is made for: it centres on the hub with no ring or spacer.
Same bolt pattern, same bolts?
- Thread: M12 x 1.5 (BMW M3 E46); M14 x 1.25 (BMW M2 F87, BMW M3 F80, BMW M4 F82, BMW M5 F10, BMW X5 M F85 and BMW X6 M F86); M14 x 1.5 (Honda Civic Type R (FK8), Honda Civic Type R (FL5), Tesla Model S first series, Tesla Model S second series, Tesla Model X first series and Tesla Model X second series); not published for BYD Seal first generation and BYD Sealion 7 first generation.
- Fixing: wheel bolts (BMW M2 F87, BMW M3 E46, BMW M3 F80, BMW M4 F82, BMW M5 F10, BMW X5 M F85 and BMW X6 M F86); wheel nuts (BYD Seal first generation, BYD Sealion 7 first generation, Honda Civic Type R (FK8), Honda Civic Type R (FL5), Tesla Model S first series, Tesla Model S second series, Tesla Model X first series and Tesla Model X second series).
- Seat: conical (BMW M2 F87, BMW M3 F80, BMW M4 F82, BMW M5 F10 and BMW X5 M F85); not published for BMW M3 E46, BMW X6 M F86, BYD Seal first generation, BYD Sealion 7 first generation, Honda Civic Type R (FK8), Honda Civic Type R (FL5), Tesla Model S first series, Tesla Model S second series, Tesla Model X first series and Tesla Model X second series.
Two cars with the same bolt pattern can therefore need different bolts or nuts: they are chosen for the car, never for the bolt pattern.
What Onyx can make in 5x120
Custom forged wheels in 6061-T6 aluminium, designed to JWL/VIA standards, in monoblock or two-piece; three-piece wheels are made on quotation.
The diameters below start from the smallest original diameter found on these cars (18-inch) and go up to 24-inch. The smallest possible diameter depends on each car and its brakes: it is given on the page for yours, and the Onyx Forged design office checks it before machining.

For Great Britain, our checkout charges in pounds sterling. It converts the euro price at its exchange rate on the day, currency conversion charge included, so the amount in pounds is about 2% more than a straight conversion at the market rate; the amount shown at checkout is the one charged for your order. The amounts in pounds on this page are those of 4 October 2026. Delivery is included in the price, so UK import VAT (20%) applies to the whole amount in pounds. The carrier collects the VAT before delivery, together with its clearance fee (for example, DHL Express charges £11 or 2.5% of the duty and VAT it pays, whichever is higher) and any import duty. Any import duty depends on the UK tariff in force when your wheels arrive: the amount you pay is the one on the carrier's notice, and UK import VAT then applies to it too. The details are on our Delivery to Great Britain page.
Wheels delivered in 4 to 8 working weeks, shipping included, from full payment for an order on the website, or from the deposit for an order on quotation, and at the earliest from your approval of the measurements, the colour or the 3D render you asked for, under article 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions.
The offset and the width of your wheels are not those of a table: the Onyx Forged design office calculates them for your car and your brakes, and submits them to you for approval before machining.
Comparing two wheels with the same bolt pattern
With the same bolt pattern, it is the offset and the width that place the wheel in the arch. Wheel offset calculator: it compares your current fitment with another, to the millimetre, and recommends no measurement.

The other bolt patterns of our cars
A neighbouring bolt pattern does not replace yours: 5x120 and 5x112 differ by 8 mm in diameter; 5x120 and 5x114.3 differ by 5.7 mm in diameter. The bolts do not line up with the holes, and the wheel would be tightened off-centre.

Publication rule: a measurement is published only when a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official record from a road authority, an original equipment (OE) parts catalogue, the maker of the OE wheel) and no other primary source contradicts it, or when two independent specialist sources agree and no primary source contradicts them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 20 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.
