Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Tesla Model X first series
What are the original offsets for the wheels of a 2015 to 2020 Tesla Model X?
For the 20-inch summer and 22-inch summer fitments, Tesla's owner's manual gives 9J with an offset of 35 at the front and 10J with an offset of 35 at the rear. The 20-inch all-season wheel is 9J with an offset of 35 at the front and 9.5J with an offset of 40 at the rear. [6]
Which tyres does a 2015 to 2020 Model X take?
255/45 R20 at the front and 275/45 R20 at the rear in 20 inches; 265/35 R22 at the front and 285/35 R22 at the rear in 22 inches, according to the owner's manual. The workshop manual also lists, among the replacement tyres Tesla sells, 265/45 R20 tyres at the front: this is not the standard fitment. [6, 8]
What PCD, centre bore and nuts does a Tesla Model X use?
The PCD is 5x120, the centre bore 64.1 mm and the wheel nuts are M14 x 1.5: SCC, wheelfitment.eu and hubcentric-rings.com give the PCD and the centre bore. The tightening torque is 175 Nm, according to Tesla. [1, 2, 3, 6, 7]
Same fixing measurements
As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the Tesla Model X first series: PCD 5x120, centre bore 64.1 mm, thread M14 x 1.5, fixing: wheel nuts.

- Tesla Model S first series (2012–2020)
Same fixing measurements; original diameters and offsets: see each car's page. The seat of the bolts or nuts, the width of the wheels and brake clearance are not compared here: this comparison is not an opinion on compatibility.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 15 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

On a staggered fitment, a front wheel and a rear wheel cannot be swapped.
And the Model X since 2021?
The Model X since 2021 has its own page, Model X since 2021: the width does not change, but the front offset goes from 35 to 40.
What we record before machining
- The exact version, stated on the registration document, and the current diameter of your wheels.
- The braking system, on which the smallest possible diameter depends.
- The current fitment, axle by axle, and the hub's 64.1 mm centre bore.
