Custom forged wheels for Land Rover Range Rover Sport
The Range Rover Sport puts more than two and a half tonnes through four contact patches, with a ground clearance that varies by several centimetres depending on the driving mode and, often, a towbar at the rear. Its wheels are not a display piece. Onyx Forged designs them in 21, 22 or 23 inches from your vehicle's maximum axle weights, in forged 6061-T6 aluminium, around your calipers and your original fitment.
Range Rover Sport: original wheels, brakes and weight
The figures below come from Land Rover's documents and from the sources listed below, read on 20 October 2026. They are the standard measurements of the versions named, not a recommendation: before any design, we work out the measurements of your car.
P360, P400 and D250, D300, D350 diesels (2025 model year)
| Brakes | 380 mm ventilated discs at the front, 355 mm at the rear [1] |
|---|---|
| Kerb weight (DIN) | 2,310 kg (P360, P400); 2,315 to 2,360 kg (diesels) [1] |
P460e and P550e, plug-in hybrids (2025 model year)
| Brakes | 400 mm ventilated discs at the front, 370 mm at the rear [1] |
|---|---|

P530 V8 (2025 model year)
| Brakes | 400 mm ventilated discs at the front, 370 mm at the rear [1] |
|---|---|
| Kerb weight (DIN) | 2,505 kg [1] |
P635 V8 (2025 model year)
| Brakes | 420 mm discs at the front (440 mm with the carbon-ceramic brakes and the carbon-fibre wheels), 390 mm at the rear [1] |
|---|---|
| Kerb weight (DIN) | 2,485 kg [1] |
From 380 to 440 mm at the front depending on the version: the disc sets the smallest possible wheel diameter, before any question of style.

A large SUV that drives like a grand tourer
The Range Rover Sport is the Land Rover you drive quickly on the open road. A lightweight, mainly aluminium architecture, electronically controlled air suspension, adaptive damping and, depending on the version, active anti-roll control and rear-wheel steering: together they hide the mass from the driver with disconcerting effectiveness. That is precisely what makes the wrong choice of wheel possible. The car gives no warning. It keeps cornering flat and braking short on an undersized wheel, until the day a pothole taken at 130 km/h on the motorway with the car laden decides otherwise.
The load per wheel: the calculation that comes before the design
A Range Rover Sport with a combustion engine is already heavy; the plug-in hybrid versions are noticeably heavier. Add four people, a full boot, a roof rack and, above all, the vertical load on a tow ball (many of these cars tow a horse trailer or a boat) and the rear axle approaches its maximum permitted weight. That weight appears on the manufacturer's plate and on the registration document: divided by two, it sets the load each rear wheel must carry. We start from that figure. The design comes afterwards, and it adapts to it: thickness of the wheel centre, spoke section, lip of the wheel.
What is established for the car, never from a generic table
Three points are established before any line is drawn. Ride height first: the air suspension varies the ground clearance by several centimetres between access mode and off-road mode, so the clearance in the wheel arch is never judged at a single height. The calipers next, whose internal barrel clearance is established for the exact version of your vehicle and cannot be deduced from any catalogue. Finally the tyre pressure sensors, which must be carried over exactly as they are. PCD (bolt pattern), hub bore and original offset are established for your version, never assumed.
21, 22 or 23 inches: what each diameter commits you to
Every inch gained comes out of the sidewall height. At 21 inches, more of it remains to absorb a laden car and the joints in the road surface, which matters for a second set of winter wheels, since winter equipment is required from 1 November to 31 March in the mountain municipalities designated by prefectoral order (the French Loi Montagne). A 22-inch wheel fills the wheel arch more. A 23-inch wheel reduces the sidewall further, and demands the most rigorous design so as not to put back, at the outer edge of the wheel, the weight that has just been saved. The choice is yours; one limit, however, does not depend on you: according to Land Rover's 2025 technical specification, the front disc measures from 380 to 420 mm depending on the version, and 440 mm with the carbon-ceramic brakes. The wheel must accommodate it, whatever diameter is chosen.
What custom work allows
Monoblock when lightness comes first, two-piece or three-piece when you are after a barrel depth and a flush fit that a monoblock cannot reach. Number of spokes, concave profile, finish, visible or hidden bolts: everything is decided with you. Our wheels are designed to JWL/VIA standards and 5-axis CNC machined. Price and lead time each have their own page: custom forged wheel prices and lead time. Send an inspiration photo to our configurator: it turns it into a render applied to your Range Rover Sport.
