Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Toyota GR Yaris first generation

What is the original offset for the wheels of a Toyota GR Yaris?

An offset of 45, on an 8J x 18 wheel, on both axles: this is the combination in the Swiss vehicle type records, before and after the 2024 facelift. Toyota (Japan) states that this wheel exists in a forged version by BBS and a cast version by ENKEI, with the same offset. [5, 6, 7, 8]

Which tyres, and which load index, does a Toyota GR Yaris take?

225/40 R18, with load index 88, i.e. 560 kg per tyre, or as a ZR tyre with load index 92, i.e. 630 kg: these are the two tyres permitted by the Swiss vehicle type records on the 18-inch wheel. [5, 7, 9]

What is the load per wheel on a Toyota GR Yaris?

Its Swiss vehicle type records give it a permissible load of 970 kg on the front axle, i.e. 485 kg per front wheel, and of 900 kg on the rear axle. The 225/40 R18 tyre with load index 88 carries 560 kg. [5, 7, 9]

What PCD (bolt pattern), centre bore and nuts does a Toyota GR Yaris use?

The PCD is 5x114.3, the centre bore 60.1 mm, and the wheels are held by M12 x 1.5 nuts: SCC and the German general operating permits (Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis) for Borbet and Ronal wheels give these measurements; Toyota (Japan) gives a centre bore of about 60 mm. The Toyota owner's manual sets the tightening torque of the nuts at 103 N·m. [1, 2, 3, 4, 6]

Sources for the measurements and answers

  2. Ronal, German general operating permit for a wheel (ABE 52372) listing the Toyota Yaris GR: PCD, spigot ring, nuts (secondary source, consulted on 20 October 2026)

  6. Toyota (Japan), answer to the question “tyre and wheel sizes fitted on the production line”, GR Yaris from March 2024: tyre, forged BBS or cast ENKEI wheel with its offset, by trim (Japanese market) (primary source, consulted on 20 October 2026)
  7. Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), vehicle type record no. 1TB763 (Toyota GR Yaris, type XPA1G, 206 kW, all-wheel drive, April 2024): permitted tyre and wheel combinations (tyre, width x diameter, offset) and axle loads (primary source, consulted on 20 October 2026)
  8. Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), vehicle type record no. 1TB764 (Toyota GR Yaris, type XPA1G, 206 kW, all-wheel drive, other variant, April 2024): permitted tyre and wheel combinations (tyre, width x diameter, offset) and axle loads (primary source, consulted on 20 October 2026)
  9. Fiches-auto.fr, tyre load index table (index → kg) (reference table, for a conversion, consulted on 3 October 2026)

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 20 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the Toyota GR Yaris first generation

  • Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
  • 5-axis CNC machining
  • Designed to JWL/VIA standards
  • Fitment worked out for your Toyota GR Yaris first generation

GR Yaris: 5x114.3, a 60.1 mm hub, M12 x 1.5 nuts

The Toyota GR Yaris, produced since September 2020 and facelifted in March 2024 according to Toyota, uses 5x114.3 on a 60.1 mm hub, with M12 x 1.5 wheel nuts: SCC and the German general operating permits (Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis) for Borbet and Ronal wheels give these measurements; Toyota gives a centre bore of about 60 mm. The Toyota owner's manual sets the tightening torque of the nuts at 103 N·m.

A single fitment: 8J x 18, offset of 45

The Swiss vehicle type records, from 2020 for the 192 kW GR Yaris and from 2024 for the facelifted 206 kW version, permit a single wheel, the same on both axles: 8J x 18 with an offset of 45, fitted with 225/40 R18 tyres. Toyota (Japan) states that this wheel exists in a forged version by BBS and a cast version by ENKEI, with the same offset.

A light wheel, on the road and on track

On a car of this weight, every kilo of wheel counts: the unsprung mass (page in French) guide explains what a lighter wheel changes, and track day (page in French) what to prepare before driving on a circuit. The record gives a permissible load of 970 kg on the front axle, i.e. 485 kg per front wheel.

What these measurements say about a forged wheel

The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.
