Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (949)

What are the original offsets for the wheels of an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio?

A staggered fitment, according to the Swiss vehicle type records: 9J with an offset of 29 at the front and 10J with an offset of 34 at the rear, in 20 inches and, from the June 2019 record, in 21 inches. [9, 13, 17]

Which tyres, and which load index, does an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio take?

In 20 inches, 255/45 R20 with load index 101 at the front, i.e. 825 kg per tyre, and 285/40 R20 with load index 104 at the rear, i.e. 900 kg; in 21 inches, 255/40 R21 with load index 102 and 285/35 R21 with load index 105, i.e. 850 and 925 kg. [9, 13, 18]

What is the load per wheel on an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio?

Its Swiss vehicle type records give it a permissible load of 1,170 kg on the front axle and 1,340 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 585 and 670 kg per wheel, more than on the Giulia Quadrifoglio. The 285/40 R20 rear tyre with load index 104 carries 900 kg. [9, 17, 18]

What PCD, centre bore and bolts does an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio use?

The PCD is 5x110, the centre bore 65.1 mm, and the wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 bolts with a 60° conical seat: SCC, wheelfitment.eu, koleso.ee and the German operating permits for MAK and Brock wheels, which name the 375 kW Stelvio, give these measurements, and a tightening torque of 130 Nm; hubcentric-rings.com gives other values. Alfa Romeo's owner's handbook, which mentions five wheel bolts, refers you to the dealer network to check the tightening. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

Which wheels does Alfa Romeo specify for the Stelvio Quadrifoglio?

Alfa Romeo's owner's handbook (Australia, 2024) gives, for the 2.9 V6, 20 x 9J wheels with an offset of 29 at the front and 20 x 10J wheels with an offset of 34 at the rear, or the same in 21 inches, with 255/45 R20 and 285/40 R20 tyres, or 255/40 R21 and 285/35 R21 tyres. The Swiss vehicle type records permit the same combinations. [8, 13, 17]

Same fixing measurements

As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (949): PCD 5x110, centre bore 65.1 mm, thread M14 x 1.5, fixing: wheel bolts.

Same fixing measurements; original diameters and offsets: see each car's page. The seat of the bolts or nuts, the width of the wheels and brake clearance are not compared here: this comparison is not an opinion on compatibility.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 20 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (949)

  • Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
  • 5-axis CNC machining
  • Designed to JWL/VIA standards
  • Fitment worked out for your Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (949)

Stelvio Quadrifoglio: 5x110, a 65.1 mm hub, M14 x 1.5 bolts

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (type 949), whose first Swiss vehicle type record dates from November 2017, uses 5x110 on a 65.1 mm hub, with M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts that have a 60° conical seat, tightened to 130 Nm: SCC, wheelfitment.eu, koleso.ee and two German operating permits for wheels (MAK and Brock) that name the 375 kW Stelvio give these measurements, each cited in the table; hubcentric-rings.com gives other values. Alfa Romeo's owner's handbook refers you to the dealer network to check the tightening.

20 or 21 inches, offsets given by Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo's owner's handbook and the vehicle type record of the Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), the document that sets the tyre and wheel combinations a car may carry, give the same staggered fitment: 9J with an offset of 29 at the front, fitted with 255/45 R20 or 255/40 R21 tyres, and 10J with an offset of 34 at the rear, fitted with 285/40 R20 or 285/35 R21 tyres. The 21-inch wheel appears in the records from June 2019. It is the same wheel in width and offset in both diameters: only the tyre changes.

A heavy SUV: the load per wheel

The record gives a permissible load of 1,340 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 670 kg per rear wheel, and 1,170 kg on the front axle: far more than on the Giulia Quadrifoglio. It is this load that the wheel must withstand, and the tyre must keep at least the load index of the original fitment (what load must the wheel withstand (page in French)).

What these measurements say about a forged wheel

The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.

Roadworthiness test: what is examined

The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that protrudes beyond the bodywork) and verifies that the tyre size is one provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent. Keeping a tyre size from the original fitment, and at least its load index, avoids having to justify it; the details are on the roadworthiness test and registration page.
