Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Aston Martin DB11 AM5

What are the original offsets for the wheels of an Aston Martin DB11?

A staggered fitment, wider at the rear, according to its Swiss vehicle type records: 9J x 20 with an offset of 48 at the front and 11J x 20 with an offset of 55 at the rear, on the V8, the V12 and the AMR alike, coupé or Volante. The V8 also takes the same fitment in 21 inches, at the same widths and the same offsets. [9, 15, 17, 19]

Which tyres, and which load index, does an Aston Martin DB11 take?

In 20 inches, 255/40 R20 with load index 101 at the front, i.e. 825 kg per tyre, and 295/35 R20 with load index 105 at the rear, i.e. 925 kg; in 21 inches, 255/35 R21 with index 98, i.e. 750 kg, and 295/30 R21 with index 102, i.e. 850 kg. For winter, the records permit the 20-inch sizes with indices of 97 and 101. [9, 11, 15, 23]

What is the load per wheel on an Aston Martin DB11?

Its Swiss vehicle type records give it a permissible load of 1,100 kg on the front axle and 1,240 kg on the rear axle for the coupé, 1,310 kg for the Volante, i.e. 550 kg per front wheel and 620 kg per rear wheel, 655 kg for the Volante. The 295/35 R20 rear tyre with load index 105 carries 925 kg. [9, 10, 17, 23]

What PCD, centre bore and bolts does an Aston Martin DB11 use?

The PCD is 5x128, the centre bore 75.1 mm, and the wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 bolts tightened to 150 Nm. wheelfitment.eu, koleso.ee, tirewheelguide.com, SCC and ThreePiece.us give the PCD, the centre bore and the thread; the Aston Martin letter introducing the DB11 to dealers names its locking wheel bolts, and koleso.ee, SCC and BONOSS give the bolt; wheelfitment.eu and koleso.ee give the torque. wheelfitment.eu gives a nut: we adopt the bolt, which Aston Martin names. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

Same fixing measurements

As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the Aston Martin DB11 AM5: PCD 5x128, centre bore 75.1 mm, thread M14 x 1.5, fixing: wheel bolts.

Same fixing measurements; original diameters and offsets: see each car's page. The seat of the bolts or nuts, the width of the wheels and brake clearance are not compared here: this comparison is not an opinion on compatibility.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 22 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the Aston Martin DB11 AM5

  • Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
  • 5-axis CNC machining
  • Designed to JWL/VIA standards
  • Fitment worked out for your Aston Martin DB11 AM5

DB11 AM5: 5x128, M14 x 1.5 bolts, a 75.1 mm centre bore

The Aston Martin DB11, type AM5, whose first Swiss vehicle type record dates from September 2016, as a V8, a V12 and an AMR alike, coupé or Volante, uses 5x128, with a 75.1 mm centre bore and M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts tightened to 150 Nm: wheelfitment.eu, koleso.ee, tirewheelguide.com, SCC and ThreePiece.us give the PCD (bolt pattern), the centre bore and the thread, wheelfitment.eu and koleso.ee the torque, each cited in the table. The bolt is the one Aston Martin names in the letter introducing the DB11 to its dealers, whose special tools include a locking wheel bolt key; koleso.ee, SCC and BONOSS give it too, while wheelfitment.eu gives a nut, which we do not adopt. A wheel drilled for another PCD does not fit.

20 or 21 inches: a staggered fitment

The vehicle type record of the Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), the document that sets the tyre and wheel combinations a car may carry, permits for the DB11 a staggered fitment, wider at the rear: 9J x 20 with an offset of 48 at the front and 11J x 20 with an offset of 55 at the rear, with 255/40 R20 and 295/35 R20 tyres, on the V8, the V12 and the AMR. Since November 2021, the V8, coupé or Volante, also takes 9J x 21 and 11J x 21 at the same offsets, with 255/35 R21 and 295/30 R21 tyres; in winter, the records permit the 20-inch sizes. The record writes the front wheel (“v=”) and the rear wheel (“h=”) of each combination on the same line: the table reproduces them as they are. The records name the model, DB11, DB11 Volante or DB11 AMR; we identify the V8 and the V12 by their power output, 375 then 393.5 kW for the V8, 447.5 then 470 kW for the V12 and the AMR. The Vantage AM6, from the same family, has these fitments, at the same offsets.

A front-engined grand tourer: the rear carries the most

The records give a permissible load of 1,100 kg on the front axle and 1,240 kg on the rear axle for the coupé, 1,310 kg for the Volante, i.e. 550 kg per front wheel and 620 kg per rear wheel, 655 kg for the Volante: the more heavily loaded axle takes the wider wheel. This is the load the wheel must carry, and the tyre must keep at least the load index of the original fitment, 105 for 295/35 R20 at the rear, 102 for 295/30 R21 (reading a tyre (page in French)).

What these measurements say about a forged wheel

The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.

Roadworthiness test: what is examined

The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that protrudes beyond the bodywork) and verifies that the tyre size is one provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent. Keeping a tyre size from the original fitment, and at least its load index, avoids having to justify it; the details are on the roadworthiness test and registration page.

What we record before machining

Configure your forged wheels for the Aston Martin DB11 (AM5)

The Onyx Forged design office works out the measurements of your car from its exact version, stated on the registration document, and shows them to you before machining. Each set is cut from forged 6061-T6 aluminium, machined on a 5-axis CNC centre, as monoblock, two-piece or three-piece wheels; our wheels are designed to JWL/VIA standards. Prices by diameter and the lead time are given on this page, under “What Onyx can make”. Start your configuration or write to contact@onyxforgedwheels.com.
