Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Porsche Macan Electric (XAB)

What are the original offsets of the wheels on a Porsche Macan Electric?

A staggered fitment, according to Porsche's bulletin 01/26 on permitted wheels and tyres: in 20 inches, 7.5J with an offset of 32 at the front and 10J with an offset of 49 at the rear; in 21 inches, 8.5J and 10.5J, with offsets of 27 and 47; in 22 inches, 9J and 11J, with offsets of 29 and 47. The Macan GTS takes the 21 or 22-inch fitment. [8, 9]

Which tyres, and which load index, for a Porsche Macan Electric?

In 20 inches, 235/55 R20 with a load index of 105 at the front, i.e. 925 kg per tyre, and 285/45 R20 with a load index of 112 at the rear, i.e. 1120 kg; in 21 inches, 255/45 R21 with a load index of 106 and 295/40 R21 with a load index of 111, i.e. 950 and 1090 kg; in 22 inches, 255/40 R22 with a load index of 103 and 295/35 R22 with a load index of 108, i.e. 875 and 1000 kg. All reinforced (XL). [8, 9, 10, 11]

Are wheel arch extensions needed to fit larger wheels on a Macan Electric?

Yes, when the car is delivered with the smallest fitment: on a Macan delivered on 20-inch wheels, Porsche requires its wheel arch extension kit, in grained black or gloss black, to fit 21 or 22-inch wheels. [8]

What PCD, centre bore and bolts for a Porsche Macan Electric?

The PCD is 5x130, and not 5x112 as on the first-generation combustion-engined Macan: its wheels do not fit a Macan Electric. The wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 bolts, tightened to 160 Nm according to Porsche's bulletin. The centre bore adopted is 66.5 mm, the value given by BONOSS and SCC; other databases give other values: the Onyx Forged design office establishes it for your car, from its registration document or VIN, and submits it to you before machining. Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 21 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Macan Electric (XAB): 5x130, M14 x 1.5 bolts at 160 Nm

The Porsche Macan Electric, type XAB, delivered since 2024, has a different hub from the first-generation combustion-engined Macan (95B), which is 5x112: it is 5x130, with M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts, for which Porsche's bulletin 01/26 on permitted wheels and tyres gives a tightening torque of 160 Nm. The PCD (bolt pattern) and the thread also come from koleso.ee, tirewheelguide.com and BONOSS, each cited in the table. The centre bore adopted is 66.5 mm, the value given by BONOSS and SCC; hubcentric-rings.com gives 66.6 mm, ThreePiece.us 66.45 mm, and two databases from the same group, koleso.ee and tirewheelguide.com, contradict each other: the Onyx Forged design office decides for your car before machining.

Three staggered fitments, from 20 to 22 inches

Porsche's bulletin 01/26 permits a staggered fitment, wider at the rear, for the Macan, Macan 4, 4S, 4 Active and Turbo: 7.5J x 20 with an offset of 32 at the front and 10J x 20 with an offset of 49 at the rear (235/55 R20 and 285/45 R20), 8.5J x 21 with an offset of 27 and 10.5J x 21 with an offset of 47 (255/45 R21 and 295/40 R21), or 9J x 22 with an offset of 29 and 11J x 22 with an offset of 47 (255/40 R22 and 295/35 R22). The Macan GTS takes the 21 or 22-inch fitment. For winter in 21 inches, the rear tyre changes to 285/40 R21, and snow chains can only be fitted at the rear. On a car delivered on 20-inch wheels, Porsche requires a wheel arch extension kit to fit 21 or 22-inch wheels.

A heavy electric car: what the tyres carry

No Swiss vehicle type record has been read for the Macan Electric: we do not publish its permissible axle load. The load indices of its original tyres, all reinforced, show what each rear wheel must carry: 112 for 285/45 R20, 111 for 295/40 R21, 108 for 295/35 R22. The tyre must keep at least the load index of the original fitment (reading a tyre (page in French)); on an electric car, weight and torque also wear tyres faster (electric car tyres (page in French)), and the guide heavy SUV wheels and load per wheel (page in French) sets out the calculation.

What these measurements say about a forged wheel

The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.

Roadworthiness test: what is examined

The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that protrudes beyond the bodywork) and verifies that the tyre size is one provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent. Keeping a tyre size from the original fitment, and at least its load index, avoids having to justify it; the details are on the roadworthiness test and registration document page.

What we record before machining

Configure your forged wheels for the Porsche Macan Electric (XAB)

The Onyx Forged design office works out the measurements of your car from its exact version, stated on the registration document, and shows them to you before machining. Each set is cut from forged 6061-T6 aluminium, machined on a 5-axis CNC centre, as monoblock, two-piece or three-piece wheels; our wheels are designed to JWL/VIA standards.
