Frequently asked questions: wheels for the BMW M4 G82
Which wheels are standard on an M4 Competition (G82) sold in France?
In rear-wheel drive, 9.5J x 18 and 275/40 ZR18 at the front, 10.5J x 19 and 285/35 ZR19 at the rear, according to BMW France's price lists of February and October 2021. In M xDrive form, 9.5J x 19 and 275/35 ZR19 at the front, 10.5J x 20 and 285/30 ZR20 at the rear. [10, 13, 14]
Does the rear-wheel-drive M4 Competition have the same standard wheels in every country?
No. BMW France delivered it in 2021 with 18 inches at the front and 19 inches at the rear; BMW UK announced it the same year with 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear as standard, the fitment of the BMW 826M wheel. Both fitments are original BMW equipment: it is the car's fitment that counts, not its name. [1, 2, 13, 14, 15]
What is the load per wheel on a rear-wheel-drive M4 Coupé (G82)?
1,075 kg on the front axle and 1,135 kg on the rear, i.e. at most 538 and 568 kg per wheel, according to BMW's technical data. [10, 12]
What is the original offset of the M4 G82's 19/20-inch wheels?
20 mm on both axles (BMW 826M wheel, shared by the M2 G87, M3 G80 and M4 G82). [1, 2, 11, 14]
Same fixing measurements
As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the BMW M4 G82: PCD 5x112, centre bore 66.5 mm, thread M14 x 1.25, fixing: wheel bolts.
- BMW M3 G80 (since 2020)
- Toyota GR Supra A90 (2019–2026)
Same fixing measurements; original diameters and offsets: see each car's page. The seat of the bolts or nuts, the width of the wheels and brake clearance are not compared here: this comparison is not an opinion on compatibility.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 10 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the BMW M4 G82
- Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
- 5-axis CNC machining
- Designed to JWL/VIA standards
- Fitment worked out for your BMW M4 G82
The G82 shares its fixing with the G80, and nothing at all with the F82
The M4 G82 is drilled 5x112, like the M3 G80 and the M2 G87. The BMW 826M wheel, original equipment on the M3 G80 and M4 G82, also fits the M2 G87. On the other hand, nothing is shared with the M4 F82 before it, which stayed at 5x120. For anyone buying used, the consequence is very concrete: the stock of wheels sold as “M4” actually covers two incompatible PCDs (bolt patterns), and the listing does not always say so. The chassis code, for its part, does not lie.
An original fitment that depends on the trim, not the model
On the G82, the width does not change from one version to another: 9.5J at the front, 10.5J at the rear. It is the diameters that change. The base M4 takes an 18-inch front wheel with 275/40 R18 and a 19-inch rear wheel with 285/35 R19; the Competition M xDrive moves up to 19 inches at the front (275/35 R19) and 20 inches at the rear (285/30 R20), on the BMW 826M wheel, with a 20 mm offset on both axles. In rear-wheel-drive form, the Competition's fitment depends on the market: BMW France delivered it in 2021 on 18 and 19 inches, while BMW UK announced it the same year on 19 and 20 inches. Two M4s parked side by side may therefore not have the same wheels, while having the same fixing measurements. It is a nuance that matters when ordering: it is your car's original diameter that serves as the starting point, not the brochure's.
G82 coupé, G83 convertible: the fixing does not change, the mass does
The G83 convertible carries the body reinforcements and roof mechanism of an open car, and it is appreciably heavier than the coupé. This extra mass is carried by the same wheels, at the same measurements. This is typically the case where reducing unsprung mass pays off most: every kilogram taken off the wheel is a kilogram the damping no longer has to control, and a heavy convertible is more sensitive than the coupé to judder on broken road surfaces. We therefore do not size the wheel centre the same way for both body styles.
Track use, carbon-ceramic brakes and the M4 CSL
Some G82s are driven on track days, often with the optional carbon-ceramic brakes (standard on the M4 CSL, the lightweight version of the generation). The corresponding calipers do not take up the same volume as the M Compound ones, and the clearance is established for the exact version of the car, never from a generic table. The wheel centre also plays a thermal role: too closed, it deprives heavily used discs of the airflow they need. For track use, this weighs more heavily in the design than any styling consideration.
