Configure wheels for the Tesla Model Y Juniper

Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Tesla Model Y Juniper

What is the wheel tightening torque on a facelifted Tesla Model Y (Juniper)?

175 Nm (129 lb·ft), according to Tesla's workshop manual and owner's manual. [6, 7]

Does the steel wheel fit every facelifted Model Y (Juniper)?

No. Tesla reserves it for the Model Y Standard and warns that it can damage the suspension of a Model Y Premium or Performance. [7]

Does the Model Y Standard have pressure sensors in its wheels?

No. Tesla fits it with indirect monitoring (iTPMS) and publishes a procedure for fitting sensors in the wheels. [10]

What is the load index of the original tyres on the facelifted Model Y?

For the five-seat Model Y, at least 104 XL in 19 inches (255/45 R19), i.e. 900 kg per tyre, and 101 XL in 20 inches (255/40 R20), i.e. 825 kg. The six-seat version, on a staggered fitment, requires more at the rear: 108 XL in 19 inches and 106 XL in 20 inches. [6, 8, 11]

Same fixing measurements

As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the Tesla Model Y Juniper: PCD 5x114.3, centre bore 64.1 mm, thread M14 x 1.5, fixing: wheel nuts.

Same fixing measurements; original diameters and offsets: see each car's page. The seat of the bolts or nuts, the width of the wheels and brake clearance are not compared here: this comparison is not an opinion on compatibility.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 10 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the Tesla Model Y Juniper

  • Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
  • 5-axis CNC machining
  • Designed to JWL/VIA standards
  • Fitment worked out for your Tesla Model Y Juniper

Model Y Juniper: new body, same hub

The facelifted Model Y, known as the Juniper (model years 2025 onwards in Tesla's manuals), keeps the fixing measurements of the first generation: 5x114.3 PCD (bolt pattern), 64.1 mm centre bore, M14 x 1.5 wheel nuts with a 60° conical seat, according to specialist sources that agree, cited in the table. The torque, 175 Nm (129 lb·ft), is the one in Tesla's workshop manual and owner's manual.

The original fitments, and the Standard's steel wheel

In 19 inches, 9.5J ET 45 and 255/45 R19; in 20 inches, 9.5J ET 45 and 255/40 R20; in 21 inches, a staggered fitment, 9.5J ET 40 at the front and 10.5J ET 48 at the rear. The Model Y Standard gets an 18-inch steel wheel, 8.5J ET 38 in 235/55 R18: Tesla reserves it for this version and warns that it can damage the suspension of a Model Y Premium or Performance. The Standard has no pressure sensors in its wheels (indirect monitoring), and Tesla publishes a procedure for fitting some.

The load index, before machining

For the five-seat Model Y, Tesla requires tyres with a load index of at least 104 XL in 19 inches, i.e. 900 kg per tyre, and 101 XL in 20 inches, i.e. 825 kg; the six-seat version, on a staggered fitment, requires more at the rear. These are minimum tyre capacities, not a measurement of the wheel: we establish the load per wheel of your car before machining, not after.

Range and weight: sourced figures, or none

On an electric car, wheel size has a cost in range. Official US figures give the order of magnitude on another car from the brand: on the EPA cycle, the 2025 Model S Plaid loses 10.3% of its range between its 19-inch and 21-inch wheels (fueleconomy.gov, comparison of the 2025 Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid), a difference that combines diameter, tyre, weight and aerodynamics. We have not yet recorded a sourced figure specific to the Model Y Juniper, so we do not give one. Nor do we state a wheel weight: a forged wheel's weight depends on its spokes, its width and its construction, and we only publish what has been weighed.

Configure your forged wheels for the Model Y Juniper

The Onyx Forged design office works out the measurements of your car from its exact version, stated on the registration document, and shows them to you before machining. Each set is cut from forged 6061-T6 aluminium, machined on a 5-axis CNC centre, as monoblock, two-piece or three-piece wheels; our wheels are designed to JWL/VIA standards. Prices by diameter and the lead time are given on this page, under “What Onyx can make”. Start your configuration or write to contact@onyxforgedwheels.com.
