Frequently asked questions: wheels for the McLaren Artura coupé and Spider

What are the original offsets for the wheels of a McLaren Artura?

A staggered fitment, wider at the rear and larger in diameter, according to its Swiss vehicle type records: 8.5J x 19 with an offset of 43 at the front and 10.5J x 20 with an offset of 49 at the rear, for the coupé and the Spider alike, from the first record, in March 2022, to the latest, in January 2026. ThreePiece.us gives the same offsets. [3, 5, 7, 8]

Which tyres, and which load index, does a McLaren Artura take?

235/35 R19 with load index 91 at the front, i.e. 615 kg per tyre, and 295/35 R20 with load index 105 at the rear, i.e. 925 kg, according to its Swiss vehicle type records. [5, 8, 10]

What is the load per wheel on a McLaren Artura?

Its 2022 and 2024 Swiss vehicle type records give a permissible load of 870 kg on the front axle and 1,060 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 435 and 530 kg per wheel, for the coupé and the Spider alike; those of January 2026, 824 and 1,022 kg, i.e. 412 and 511 kg per wheel. The rear carries the most, and its 295/35 R20 tyre with load index 105 carries 925 kg. [5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10]

What PCD, centre bore and bolts does a McLaren Artura use?

The PCD is 5x112, the centre bore 66.6 mm, and the wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 bolts, according to ThreePiece.us, tirewheelguide.com and auto.ru. This is not the centre bore of the 720S, which is 57.1 mm according to wheelfitment.eu and koleso.ee: a 720S wheel does not centre on the hub of an Artura. The tightening torque and the seat of the original bolt are not published: no source we have read gives them. [1, 2, 3, 4, 11, 12]

Same fixing measurements

As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the McLaren Artura coupé and Spider: PCD 5x112, centre bore 66.6 mm, thread M14 x 1.5, fixing: wheel bolts.

Same fixing measurements; original diameters and offsets: see each car's page. The seat of the bolts or nuts, the width of the wheels and brake clearance are not compared here: this comparison is not an opinion on compatibility.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 22 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

McLaren Artura: original wheels, brakes and weight

The figures below come from McLaren's documents and from the sources listed below, read on 20 October 2026. They are the standard measurements of the versions named, not a recommendation: before any design, we work out the measurements of your car.

Artura

TyresPirelli P Zero, 235/35 ZR19 at the front, 295/35 ZR20 at the rear [2][3]
Brakescarbon-ceramic, 6-piston aluminium calipers at the front, 4-piston at the rear [1]
Dry weight (lightest version)1,395 kg [1]
Weight in running order (DIN)1,498 kg [1]

The Artura's original tyres each carry a sensor (Pirelli Cyber Tyre): the wheel must accommodate it.

Custom forged wheels for the McLaren Artura coupé and Spider

  • Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
  • 5-axis CNC machining
  • Designed to JWL/VIA standards
  • Fitment worked out for your McLaren Artura coupé and Spider

McLaren Artura: 5x112, M14 x 1.5 bolts, a 66.6 mm centre bore

The McLaren Artura, which combines a V6 and an electric motor, and whose first Swiss vehicle type record dates from March 2022 for the coupé and from March 2024 for the Spider, uses 5x112, with a 66.6 mm centre bore and M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts: ThreePiece.us, tirewheelguide.com and auto.ru give these measurements, each cited in the table. This is not the centre bore of the 720S, which is 57.1 mm: a 720S wheel does not centre on the hub of an Artura. No source we have read gives the tightening torque or the seat of the original bolt.

19 inches at the front, 20 at the rear: a single fitment

The vehicle type record of the Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), the document that sets the tyre and wheel combinations a car may carry, permits only one fitment for the Artura, a staggered one: 8.5J x 19 with an offset of 43 at the front, with 235/35 R19 tyres, and 10.5J x 20 with an offset of 49 at the rear, with 295/35 R20 tyres. It applies to the coupé and the Spider alike, with the 430 kW combustion engine of the first record as with the 445 kW one of the 2024 and 2026 records. ThreePiece.us gives the same offsets; at the front, tirewheelguide.com gives 42 and auto.ru 42.85: the table follows the type record, the official document.

A mid-mounted engine: the rear carries the most

The 2022 and 2024 records give a permissible load of 870 kg on the front axle and 1,060 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 435 and 530 kg per wheel, for the coupé and the Spider alike; those of January 2026, 824 and 1,022 kg, i.e. 412 and 511 kg per wheel. The more heavily loaded axle takes the wider wheel, and the tyre must keep at least the load index of the original fitment, 91 for 235/35 R19 at the front and 105 for 295/35 R20 at the rear (reading a tyre (page in French)).

What these measurements say about a forged wheel

The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.

Roadworthiness test: what is examined

The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that protrudes beyond the bodywork) and verifies that the tyre size is one provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent. Keeping a tyre size from the original fitment, and at least its load index, avoids having to justify it; the details are on the roadworthiness test and registration page.
