Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Mercedes GLC 63 AMG X253 and C253

What are the original offsets for the wheels of a Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 (X253)?

A staggered fitment, according to its Swiss vehicle type records: in 20 and 21 inches, 9.5J with an offset of 30 at the front and 10J with an offset of 28 at the rear; in 19 inches, on the GLC 63 only, 8J with an offset of 19 and 9J with an offset of 18. The GLC 63 S takes the 19-inch size for winter, 8J with an offset of 19 on both axles. [13, 15, 20]

Which tyres, and which load index, does a Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 (X253) take?

In 20 inches, 265/45 R20 with load index 108 at the front, i.e. 1000 kg per tyre, and 295/40 R20 with load index 110 at the rear, i.e. 1060 kg; in 21 inches, 265/40 R21 with load index 105 and 295/35 R21 with load index 107, i.e. 925 and 975 kg; in 19 inches, 235/55 R19 with load index 101 and 255/50 R19 with load index 103. The records only permit these fitments with AMG wheels. [13, 15, 23]

What is the load per wheel on a Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 (X253)?

Its Swiss vehicle type records give it a permissible load of 1,260 to 1,300 kg on the front axle, and of 1,280 to 1,320 kg on the rear axle for the SUV, 1,290 to 1,330 kg for the coupé, i.e. 630 to 650 kg per wheel at the front and up to 665 kg at the rear. The 295/40 R20 rear tyre with load index 110 carries 1060 kg. [15, 16, 23]

What PCD, centre bore and bolts does a Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 (X253) use?

The PCD is 5x112, the centre bore 66.6 mm, and the wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 bolts: koleso.ee and tirewheelguide.com give these measurements for the GLC 63, SCC, wheelfitment.eu and hubcentric-rings.com for the X253-generation GLC. The Mercedes-Benz owner's manual gives a tightening torque of 150 Nm for the bolts. [1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12]

Same fixing measurements

As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the Mercedes GLC 63 AMG X253 and C253: PCD 5x112, centre bore 66.6 mm, thread M14 x 1.5, fixing: wheel bolts.

Same fixing measurements; original diameters and offsets: see each car's page. The seat of the bolts or nuts, the width of the wheels and brake clearance are not compared here: this comparison is not an opinion on compatibility.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 21 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the Mercedes GLC 63 AMG X253 and C253

  • Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
  • 5-axis CNC machining
  • Designed to JWL/VIA standards
  • Fitment worked out for your Mercedes GLC 63 AMG X253 and C253

GLC 63 (X253 and C253): 5x112, a 66.6 mm hub, M14 x 1.5 bolts at 150 Nm

The X253-generation Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 4MATIC+, as an SUV as well as a coupé (C253), the 350 kW GLC 63 and the 375 kW GLC 63 S, whose first Swiss vehicle type records date from October 2017, uses 5x112 on a 66.6 mm hub, with M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts: koleso.ee and tirewheelguide.com give these measurements for the GLC 63, SCC, wheelfitment.eu and hubcentric-rings.com for the X253-generation GLC, each cited in the table. The Mercedes-Benz owner's manual gives a tightening torque of 150 Nm for the bolts. ThreePiece.us gives a centre bore of 66.56 mm, a rounded figure we do not use.

A staggered fitment from 19 to 21 inches, on AMG wheels

The vehicle type record of the Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), the document that sets the tyre and wheel combinations a car may carry, permits for the GLC 63 a staggered fitment, wider at the rear, and only on AMG wheels: 9.5J with an offset of 30 at the front and 10J with an offset of 28 at the rear, in 20 inches (265/45 R20 and 295/40 R20) as well as in 21 inches (265/40 R21 and 295/35 R21), or 8J x 19 with an offset of 19 and 9J x 19 with an offset of 18 (235/55 R19 and 255/50 R19). The GLC 63 S keeps the 19-inch size for winter only: 8J x 19 with an offset of 19 on both axles, on 235/55 R19 tyres. The records distinguish the SUV from the coupé by their chassis number; their fitments are the same.

Two almost equally loaded axles

The records give a permissible load of 1,260 to 1,300 kg on the front axle, and of 1,280 to 1,320 kg on the rear axle for the SUV, 1,290 to 1,330 kg for the coupé: from 630 to 650 kg per wheel at the front, up to 665 kg at the rear. This is the load the wheel must carry, and the rear tyre must keep at least the load index of the original fitment, 110 for 295/40 R20 (reading a tyre (page in French)); the guide heavy SUV wheels and load per wheel (page in French) details the calculation.

What these measurements say about a forged wheel

The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.

Roadworthiness test: what is examined

The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that protrudes beyond the bodywork) and verifies that the tyre size is one provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent. Keeping a tyre size from the original fitment, and at least its load index, avoids having to justify it; the details are on the roadworthiness test and registration page.

What we record before machining

Configure your forged wheels for the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 (X253)

The Onyx Forged design office works out the measurements of your car from its exact version, stated on the registration document, and shows them to you before machining. Each set is cut from forged 6061-T6 aluminium, machined on a 5-axis CNC centre, as monoblock, two-piece or three-piece wheels; our wheels are designed to JWL/VIA standards. Prices by diameter and the lead time are given on this page, under “What Onyx can make”. Start your configuration or write to contact@onyxforgedwheels.com.
