The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 21 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder (982)
- Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
- 5-axis CNC machining
- Designed to JWL/VIA standards
- Fitment worked out for your Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder (982)
718 Spyder (982): 5x130, a 71.6 mm hub, 160 Nm
The type 982 Porsche 718 Spyder, called the 718 Boxster Spyder in the Swiss vehicle type records, the first of which dates from September 2019, uses 5x130 on a 71.6 mm hub, with M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts: SCC and koleso.ee give these measurements, hubcentric-rings.com the PCD (bolt pattern) and the centre bore, each cited in the table. Porsche's bulletin 33/24 on permitted wheels and tyres gives a tightening torque of 160 Nm; SCC and koleso.ee publish 130 Nm: we follow Porsche, as on the 718 Cayman (982) page.
The 718 Cayman GT4 fitment
Porsche's bulletin and the type records permit for the 309 kW 718 Spyder a 20-inch staggered fitment, that of the 718 Cayman GT4: 8.5J with an offset of 61 at the front, fitted with 245/35 ZR20 tyres, and 11J with an offset of 50 at the rear, fitted with 295/30 ZR20 tyres, reinforced. For winter, Porsche permits 245/35 R20 and 295/30 R20 tyres on the same wheels, or an 8J x 20 wheel with an offset of 57 at the front and a 10J x 20 wheel with an offset of 45 at the rear, fitted with 235/35 R20 and 275/30 R20 tyres, with snow chains at the rear only. The bulletin lists the permitted tyres, make by make: two makes must not be mixed on the car. The 718 Spyder RS has the same wheel measurements.
A mid-mounted engine: the rear carries the most
The September 2019 type record gives a permissible load of 810 kg on the front axle and 955 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 405 and 477.5 kg per wheel; the December 2020 one gives 985 kg at the rear. This is the load the rear wheel must carry, and the rear tyre must keep at least the load index of the original fitment, 101 in 295/30 ZR20 (reading a tyre (page in French)).
What these measurements say about a forged wheel
The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.
Roadworthiness test: what is examined
The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that protrudes beyond the bodywork) and verifies that the tyre size is one provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent. Keeping a tyre size from the original fitment, and at least its load index, avoids having to justify it; the details are on the roadworthiness test and registration document page.
What we record before machining
- The exact version, stated on the registration document, and the current diameter of your wheels.
- The braking system, on which the smallest possible diameter depends (wheels and brakes (page in French)).
- The current fitment, axle by axle, and the hub's 71.6 mm centre bore.
Configure your forged wheels for the Porsche 718 Spyder (982)
The Onyx Forged design office works out the measurements of your car from its exact version, stated on the registration document, and shows them to you before machining. Each set is cut from forged 6061-T6 aluminium, machined on a 5-axis CNC centre, as monoblock, two-piece or three-piece wheels; our wheels are designed to JWL/VIA standards. Prices by diameter and the lead time are given on this page, under “What Onyx can make”. Start your configuration or write to contact@onyxforgedwheels.com.
