Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Porsche 718 Spyder RS 982
What are the original wheel offsets on a Porsche 718 Spyder RS?
A 20-inch staggered fitment, that of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, according to Porsche's bulletin 33/24 and the Swiss vehicle type record: 8.5J with an offset of 61 at the front and 11J with an offset of 50 at the rear. For winter, Porsche also permits 8J x 20 with an offset of 57 at the front and 10J x 20 with an offset of 45 at the rear. [4, 5]
Which tyres, and which load index, does a Porsche 718 Spyder RS take?
245/35 ZR20 with load index 95 at the front, i.e. 690 kg per tyre, and 295/30 ZR20 with load index 101 at the rear, i.e. 825 kg, reinforced (XL). For the Spyder RS, Porsche's bulletin lists only the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 and Dunlop Sport Maxx Race 2: it excludes the Pilot Sport 4S permitted for the Spyder. [4, 5, 6]
What is the load per wheel on a Porsche 718 Spyder RS?
Its Swiss vehicle type record gives it a permissible load of 770 kg on the front axle and 990 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 385 and 495 kg per wheel: the mid-mounted engine puts the load on the rear. The 295/30 ZR20 rear tyre with load index 101 carries 825 kg. [5, 6]
What PCD, centre bore and bolts does a Porsche 718 Spyder RS use?
The PCD is 5x130, the centre bore 71.6 mm, and the wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 bolts: SCC and koleso.ee give these measurements for the type 982 718, hubcentric-rings.com the PCD and the centre bore. Porsche's bulletin gives a tightening torque of 160 Nm; SCC and koleso.ee publish 130 Nm: we follow Porsche. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Same fixing measurements
As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the Porsche 718 Spyder RS 982: PCD 5x130, centre bore 71.6 mm, thread M14 x 1.5, fixing: wheel bolts.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 21 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

718 Spyder RS: 5x130, a 71.6 mm hub, 160 Nm
The Porsche 718 Spyder RS (type 982R), whose Swiss vehicle type record dates from July 2023 and covers cars imported up to the end of August 2024, uses 5x130 on a 71.6 mm hub, with M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts: SCC and koleso.ee give these measurements for the type 982 718, hubcentric-rings.com the PCD (bolt pattern) and the centre bore, each cited in the table. Porsche's bulletin 33/24 on permitted wheels and tyres gives a tightening torque of 160 Nm; SCC and koleso.ee publish 130 Nm: we follow Porsche.
The 718 Cayman GT4 RS fitment
Porsche's bulletin and the type record permit for the 368 kW 718 Spyder RS the 20-inch staggered fitment of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS: 8.5J with an offset of 61 at the front, fitted with 245/35 ZR20 tyres, and 11J with an offset of 50 at the rear, fitted with 295/30 ZR20 tyres, reinforced. For winter, Porsche permits 245/35 R20 and 295/30 R20 tyres on the same wheels, or an 8J x 20 wheel with an offset of 57 at the front and a 10J x 20 wheel with an offset of 45 at the rear, fitted with 235/35 R20 and 275/30 R20 tyres. The bulletin gives the Spyder RS a shorter list of summer tyres than that of the 718 Spyder, whose wheels have the same measurements.
A mid-mounted engine: the rear carries the most
The type record gives a permissible load of 770 kg on the front axle and 990 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 385 and 495 kg per wheel. This is the load the rear wheel must carry, and the rear tyre must keep at least the load index of the original fitment, 101 in 295/30 ZR20 (reading a tyre (page in French)).
What these measurements say about a forged wheel
The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.
Roadworthiness test: what is examined
The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that protrudes beyond the bodywork) and verifies that the tyre size is one provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent. Keeping a tyre size from the original fitment, and at least its load index, avoids having to justify it; the details are on the roadworthiness test and registration document page.
What we record before machining
- The exact version, stated on the registration document, and the current diameter of your wheels.
- The braking system, on which the smallest possible diameter depends (wheels and brakes (page in French)).
- The current fitment, axle by axle, and the hub's 71.6 mm centre bore.
