Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Škoda Octavia RS (Mk4)
What are the original offsets for the wheels of a Škoda Octavia RS Mk4?
An offset of 48, on both axles, on the 7.5J x 18 and 7.5J x 19 wheels its Swiss vehicle type records permit, for the 2.0 TSI, the 2.0 TDI 4x4 and the RS iV alike; for winter, 6.5J x 17 with an offset of 46. [5, 7, 8, 11]
Which tyres, and which load index, does a Škoda Octavia RS Mk4 take?
225/45 R18 with load index 91, i.e. 615 kg per tyre, or 225/40 R19 with load index 93, i.e. 650 kg, on both axles; for winter, 205/55 R17 with load index 91. [5, 10, 13]
What is the load per wheel on a Škoda Octavia RS Mk4?
The Swiss vehicle type record of the 2020 2.0 TSI gives it a permissible load of 1,060 kg on the front axle and 1,000 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 530 and 500 kg per wheel: on this front-wheel-drive car, the front carries the most; that of the 2.0 TDI 4x4, 1,090 and 1,080 kg, i.e. 545 and 540 kg per wheel. The 225/40 R19 tyre with load index 93 carries 650 kg. [5, 8, 13]
What PCD, centre bore and bolts does a Škoda Octavia RS Mk4 use?
The PCD is 5x112, the centre bore 57.1 mm, and the wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 bolts: wheelfitment.eu, koleso.ee and SCC give these measurements, and hubcentric-rings.com the PCD and the centre bore. The tightening torque is not published: wheelfitment.eu and koleso.ee do not give the same value. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Same fixing measurements
As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the Škoda Octavia RS (Mk4): PCD 5x112, centre bore 57.1 mm, thread M14 x 1.5, fixing: wheel bolts.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 21 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the Škoda Octavia RS (Mk4)

Octavia RS Mk4: 5x112, a 57.1 mm hub, M14 x 1.5 bolts
The fourth-generation Škoda Octavia RS (type NX), whose first Swiss vehicle type records date from September 2020, is 5x112 on a 57.1 mm hub, with M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts: wheelfitment.eu, koleso.ee and SCC give these measurements, and hubcentric-rings.com the PCD (bolt pattern) and the centre bore, each cited in the table. The tightening torque is not published: wheelfitment.eu and koleso.ee give two different values for it, and we have not read a Škoda manual that settles it.
18 or 19 inches, an offset of 48
The vehicle type record of the Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), the document that sets the tyre and wheel combinations a car may carry, permits the same wheel on both axles for the Octavia RS Combi, whether the 180 kW 2.0 TSI, the 147 kW four-wheel-drive 2.0 TDI or the RS iV plug-in hybrid, with an offset of 48: 7.5J x 18 with 225/45 R18 tyres, or 7.5J x 19 with 225/40 R19 tyres. For winter, it permits 6.5J x 17 with an offset of 46, with 205/55 R17 tyres. The Swiss records we have read only cover the Combi: the saloon does not appear in them, and this page says nothing about it.
A front-wheel-drive car: the front carries the most
The record for the 2020 2.0 TSI gives a permissible load of 1,060 kg on the front axle and 1,000 kg on the rear axle, i.e. 530 and 500 kg per wheel; that of the four-wheel-drive 2.0 TDI, 1,090 and 1,080 kg, i.e. 545 and 540 kg per wheel. This is the load the front wheel must withstand, and the tyre must keep at least the load index of the original fitment, 93 on 225/40 R19 (reading a tyre (page in French)).
What these measurements say about a forged wheel
The offset positions the wheel in the wheel arch: a wider wheel, or a lower offset, brings it closer to the wing. The Onyx Forged design office starts from the measurements on this page, your brakes and your tyres to calculate the width and offset of your wheels, then submits them to you. The offset calculator compares two fitments: it compares, it does not choose the measurement for you.
Roadworthiness test: what is examined
The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that protrudes beyond the bodywork) and verifies that the tyre size is one provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent. Keeping a tyre size from the original fitment, and at least its load index, avoids having to justify it; the details are on the roadworthiness test and registration page.
What we record before machining
- The exact version, stated on the registration document, and the current diameter of your wheels.
- The braking system, on which the smallest possible diameter depends (wheels and brakes (page in French)).
- The current fitment, axle by axle, and the hub's 57.1 mm centre bore.
Configure your forged wheels for the Škoda Octavia RS (Mk4)
The Onyx Forged design office works out the measurements of your car from its exact version, stated on the registration document, and shows them to you before machining. Each set is cut from forged 6061-T6 aluminium, machined on a 5-axis CNC centre, as monoblock, two-piece or three-piece wheels; our wheels are designed to JWL/VIA standards. Prices by diameter and the lead time are given on this page, under “What Onyx can make”. Start your configuration or write to contact@onyxforgedwheels.com.
