Why your wheels change everything

Take the same car twice, exactly the same model, the same colour. Change only the wheels on one of them. Park them side by side. You will see two completely different cars. One looks as if it has just left the production line, the other seems to have been thought out by an enthusiast. That is the whole power of wheels.
But their influence does not stop at the eye. They act on three levels at once.
1. The look: the visual signature
Wheels are one of the first things the eye picks up on a car. Even before the colour or the lines, the gaze is drawn to the wheels.
A good choice of wheels can turn an elegant car into a spectacular one. A poor choice can spoil the finest bodywork. That shows how much they matter.
The design, the finish, the size, the way they fill the wheel arches: all of this instantly defines the character of your car. Sporty, sleek, luxurious, aggressive: your wheels tell a story.
2. Performance: what happens under the weight
Here is what many people do not know: wheels really do influence how your car behaves.
A lighter wheel reduces what is called “unsprung weight”, that is, the weight the suspension has to manage all the time. The lower this weight, the livelier, more responsive and more pleasant to drive the car is.
It is one of the reasons why forged wheels, which are lighter, are so sought after. They do not only make the car look better: they improve it.
3. Value: an investment that counts
A car fitted with quality wheels, well chosen and well fitted, keeps its appeal and its value better. Conversely, low-end or poorly matched wheels can bring down the value of a car, even an upmarket one.
