Frequently asked questions: wheels for the Porsche 911 G-model
What offsets does Porsche give for the wheels of a 911 G-model?
For 911s from model year 1969, including the 911 SC and the Carrera 3.2, Porsche bulletin 76/20 gives an offset (RO) of 36 mm for 6J x 15 and 6J x 16 wheels, and of 23.3 mm for 7J x 15 and 7J x 16 wheels. On the 911 Turbo (930), the 9J x 16 rear wheel has an offset of 15 mm. [5]
What is the wheel tightening torque on a 911 G-model?
130 Nm, according to Porsche's bulletin on permitted tyres, wheels and spacers; SCC gives the same value. [2, 5]
Which tyres and pressures does Porsche give for a 911 G-model?
In 15 inches, 185/70 R15 on all four wheels, or 185/70 R15 at the front and 215/60 R15 at the rear; in 16 inches, 205/55 ZR16 at the front and 225/50 ZR16 or 245/45 ZR16 at the rear. The cold pressures are 2.0 bar at the front and 2.5 bar at the rear, 3.0 bar at the rear on the Turbo, only with the tyre makes and types that Porsche lists. [5]
What PCD and centre bore does a 911 G-model have?
5x130 and 71.6 mm, with M14 x 1.5 wheel nuts: SCC, wheelfitment.eu and ThreePiece.us give these measurements. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Same fixing measurements
As original equipment, these cars have the same PCD, centre bore, thread and fixing as the Porsche 911 G-model: PCD 5x130, centre bore 71.6 mm, thread M14 x 1.5, fixing: wheel nuts.
- Porsche 944 second series (1987–1991)
- Porsche 944 first series (1982–1986)
- Porsche 968 coupé and convertible (1991–1995)
Same fixing measurements; original diameters and offsets: see each car's page. The seat of the bolts or nuts, the width of the wheels and brake clearance are not compared here: this comparison is not an opinion on compatibility.

Publication rule: a measurement is shown only if a primary source gives it (a manufacturer's document, an official vehicle type record, an original parts catalogue, the maker of the original wheel) without another primary source contradicting it, or if two independent specialist sources agree without a primary source contradicting them. The press and forums do not count. Measurements checked on 20 October 2026 by the Onyx Forged design office.

Custom forged wheels for the Porsche 911 G-model
- Forged 6061-T6 aluminium
- 5-axis CNC machining
- Designed to JWL/VIA standards
- Fitment worked out for your Porsche 911 G-model
911 G-model: 5x130, nuts, 15 and 16 inches
The G-model 911, from 1974 to 1989, including the 911 SC and the Carrera 3.2, uses 5x130 on a 71.6 mm hub, with M14 x 1.5 wheel nuts: SCC, wheelfitment.eu and ThreePiece.us give these measurements, and hubcentric-rings.com the PCD and centre bore, each cited in the table. Porsche sets the wheel tightening torque at 130 Nm. The nut seat is given by only one source: it is not published here.
The fitments Porsche lists, in 15 and 16 inches
Porsche's bulletin on permitted tyres, wheels and spacers gives, for 911s from model year 1969, 6J wheels with an offset of 36, in 15 as in 16 inches, and 7J wheels with an offset of 23.3. This offset, given to the tenth, does not fit in our table, which shows only whole numbers: the cell stays empty, and Porsche's exact value is given here and in the questions. On the 911 Turbo (930) and the Carrera “Turbo-look”, the rear wheel moves to 9J x 16 with an offset of 15, for 245/45 ZR16 tyres. The bulletin does not say which fitment a given car had on delivery.
The period look, to your measurements
A custom forged wheel can keep what gives a car of this period its look: a flat or shallow face, wide spokes, a polished, brushed or painted finish. What is not chosen by eye is the width and the offset: they depend on the car, its wings and its brakes, and it is the Onyx Forged design office that works them out for your car, then submits them to you.
A modern classic on forged wheels: what we check
- The roadworthiness test. The French roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) examines the wheel without removing it (cracks, deformation, a wheel that sticks out beyond the bodywork) and checks that the tyre size is provided for by the manufacturer or accepted as equivalent; it neither validates nor rejects a modification, which is a matter for vehicle approval (réception) and the registration document (roadworthiness test and registration). The table gives tyre sizes that Porsche lists, with their source.
- Tyres for a classic. Porsche lists only specific tyre makes and types, marked with an N code (N0, N1, N2…) on the sidewall, and asks for the same type, the same speed rating and the same code on all four wheels. The bulletin gives the cold pressures: 2.0 bar at the front, 2.5 bar at the rear, 3.0 bar at the rear on the Turbo.
- A widened body. The Turbo and the Carrera “Turbo-look” come with a wider rear wheel from new. On a non-catalogue widened body, no Porsche fitment applies as it is: the design office starts, if needed, from a photo of the fitted wheel.
- Bigger brakes. Calipers larger than the car's own change the minimum wheel diameter and the clearance behind the spokes: we start from the caliper fitted, not the one in the catalogue, if needed from a photo of the fitted wheel.
And the other air-cooled 911s?
The 964 and the 993 each have their own page, with the fitments from their Porsche bulletin.
